How do I register to volunteer?
Click on the “Register to Volunteer” icon on the left of the home page or register as a new user using the link in the upper right hand side of the screen on this page. Once you are registered you should receive a confirmation e-mail. The email contains a link which you will need to use in order to activate your account. The link will take you back to the volunteer website at which point you are ready to login and select your volunteer shifts on the website!

Help! I can’t log in!
If you DO NOT receive a confirmation e-mail, please CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER as the email may be living there! If you don’t receive an activation e-mail, please email Cija Huntley, Volunteer Registration Manager, at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it   to activate your account for you. On occasion, the activation email is bounced or spammed and the user never receives it.

How do I sign-up for my shifts?
You must REGISTER and then LOG IN with your user name and password first. On the left you will see the navigation system. Click on the time you can volunteer. The next page will list all of the available volunteer positions. Now choose what position you’d like to volunteer for by clicking on the "Sign up for this Shift" link. You will then be asked to confirm that you want that particular shift.  Be sure to click "Yes".  If the "Sign up for this Shift" link is not there the shift is closed; there are no positions left under that area. You will need to select a different position with open shifts. Once you select the shift you want, it will disappear from the selections so no one else can sign up for the same shift.

How do I verify that I am actually signed up for my selected shift?
You can log back into your record and click the red "View My Shifts" button in the upper left hand corner.  If no shifts are listed you are not registered for any shifts.  You will need to go through the steps of registering for a shift again. (see above)

Can I sign up for more than one shift?
This is very important, please only select one shift.  If you wish to work more than one shift please contact Cija Huntley with your additional shift preference.  If you accidentally select more then one shift please contact Cija Huntley at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and tell her which one(s) you want removed.  If you do not contact us the additional shifts will be removed for you.

Help! I can’t select the shift I want!
First, make sure you are logged in; the system will not let you select any shifts if you are not logged in. Second, make sure you are selecting a shift that is still available. Available shifts will be listed on the right hand side of the screen after you select the position you want. If there are no shifts listed, all the positions for the shift have been filled.

PLEASE REGISTER ONLY ONCE! The system will not allow two users to register with the same e-mail or the same user to register twice.

What if I want to change my shift or can no longer volunteer?
Please, please, please e-mail Cija Huntley, Volunteer Registration Manager at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . You cannot change or delete the shifts you have selected – only we can do this for you.

Do you still need volunteers-should I tell my friends, classmates and family about volunteering?
YES! We always need volunteers, especially because the Live Earth Concerts are so vital to the future of the world we are going to need your help spreading the word about this landmark event and volunteering opportunity!
